UNIT Hamburg Studio

The Studio

 

  • The studio can be set up or booked on a modular basis. A galley kitchen with a Nespresso Business machine is available, a separate smoking balcony with outdoor sofa is also available. The toilets are gender-separated on the floor. Sonos boxes (controller app 2) are for shared use.

  • Our daylight photo studio is 45sqm and part of a 150sqm room in the Meistermeile in Hamburg. If desired, you can also rent the entire room. This address is very easy to reach. The atmosphere in this modern building is professional, uncomplicated, quiet and pleasant. The photo studio has a corner drawer, is bright and very quiet. There are electric sun blinds that prevent direct sunlight.
    The technical equipment is rich and sufficient for fashion photography. There are canvases in white, cream and black. These are charged by the running meter. The room is illuminated by flexible LED spotlights. Tripods for lighting by Bowens flashes and Nikon camera are available. Shelves for storing things while shooting as well. A large wooden table with usually 4 chairs is there, but also 2 large full-length mirrors and makeup station. We can happily discuss any further needs.

  • The street is Offakamp, known to most by the large BMW station. Our room can also be reached by an 11-ton heavy lift, normal cars can be driven directly in front of the room and safely unloaded even in bad weather. Up to 2 underground parking spaces are available for rent

 
 

UNIT Hamburg Studio is another project of MAPE Handels GmbH. With UNIT Hamburg we started a high quality men's fashion store. There we have quickly felt through the pandemic how demanding the product image creation for distance selling is, especially if you want to offer via trading platforms. Product photography is the keyword.

 

Who we are:

We are Max Hoeke and Peter Kirchhoff, both are passionate photographers and have taken on the topic. But already the space needed for an own studio for product photography is enormous and lacks most or is not affordable by rent in expensive locations.

 

Where we are:

We have rented a 150sqm space in the Meistermeile in Hamburg at Offakamp 9c. There we have set up a 50sqm daylight studio, which we also offer for rent externally. In addition, we have built a 40sqm room with high-tech equipment. Here we offer all the technical refinements of modern product photography. Try out the UNIT Hamburg Studio. Come to Offakamp and we will be happy to advise you. Of course we can also contact you by phone, but sometimes a visit on site is more interesting.

 

UNIT Hamburg Studio specializes in product photography for fashion, but we are no stranger to other products and welcome them very much.

 

How we proceed:

Peter Kirchhoff is happy to show and explain to you the differences and advantages and disadvantages of the different types of photos, so whether lying, shown on a mannequin or cropped presentation. But we can also offer you the elaborate 360° degree photographs or videos. Let us advise you individually.

 

The technical development in product photography continues to advance, the requirements increase. We at UNIT Hamburg Studio are always curious and also like to learn from you.

If you do not yet have exact requirements for the images, then we will be happy to advise you on what the various lighting options can mean for you.

 

We at UNIT Hamburg Studio have found that it is important to develop your own visual language. Of course, the cheapest way is to use various free photos from suppliers. But in this case, you, as a retailer do not have your own visual language. This own visual language is important in product photography.

 

What we offer:

UNIT Hamburg Studio also rents its daylight studio in the Meistermeile at Offakamp 9c in Hamburg. You will find our bright studio on the 2nd floor. Direct sunlight is avoided by electric sun blinds. A modern light system with LED spotlights can be individually aligned. We work with a flash system from BOWENS, a digital SLR camera from NIKON, a tripod from Manfrotto, the music sounds over the SONOS music system and the coffee comes from the Nespresso Business machine.

 

Rent the daylight studio:

Feel free to rent the studio if you are just looking for a place to take photos. The price is 95€ per day and 5€ for the underground parking. We have large dollies for unloading, but if you have a car you can use the freight elevator to go up right in front of the showroom and unload storm-proof. Catering is available upon request. 

Technical product photography is done in the well air-conditioned basement of the Meistermeile. There we offer Holowman photography (floating products) and 360° degree photography or videos. For this we use the special know-how of ORBITVU from Berlin. With this special machine we create the most sophisticated product photos. The product can be up to 1.90 meters high, with a width of up to 90 cm.

 

We provide you with the product images digitally after processing, Upon payment of the invoice, you will receive the images free from third party claims and can use the images on any channel. We work with a German cloud, so you can download your images yourself. This way we avoid oversized emails.

Itemized billing for individual consumables is not our thing. You get a flat rate for an item, no matter what we have consumed or how much tea we had with it. After all, we have been in the business for 30 years and are a retailer with UNIT Hamburg in the HanseViertel in the heart of the Passagenviertel in Hamburg.
